Sorry I'm bad at updating this journal, only because I don't want to launch into never ending emo rants about RL. But you can see my tweets pop up on here xD I've also been reading through the Sookie Stackhouse books like a maniac. I rush through them and sometimes forget so much detail because I'm rushing to finish whatever I can. I know Charlaine Harris isn't a good writer but I treat the smut side of the books as a guilty pleasure, plus I am sadly addicted to Eric.

Oh I didn't know about the following Xmas advert until a few weeks ago. If you know the Snowman, you'd understand the parody.

Walking In The Air - Irn Bru style

I'm waiting for three series to come back after the mid-season break so I can resume watching them online again. Plus there are two other series coming back and I'm eagerly awaiting them. In the meantime I'm trying my best to also catch up with any K-dramas I missed out on. It would be a shocker if I managed to binge through the entire Coffee Prince series. I did start on a lot of dramas but just stopped halfway because of laziness and watching too many things at the same time. I'd prefer to watch a series that isn't as long as 30 eps and seeing as a lot of you have mentioned Coffee Prince I have started with that. I'll see how far I can go before I get distracted with other things. Nearly done with ep 1 and I am finding it kinda cute.

I want to watch the live action ver of Otomen but I haven't even gone far into the Manga and as it's ongoing I might leave it for later.

A book that can touch my heart. Whether it's a novel or Manga volume from a series when I find the characters are realistic enough while reading the pages I can go crazy with my emotions if I'm not careful.

Missed out on such good things

I only found out yesterday that the OT3 of The Vampire Diaries were in London to promote their series. If I wasn't so drained mentally I would have rushed out of my flat to get to Piccadilly Circus and head to Apple Store in Regent Street. Why they chose Apple to promote I'm not sure of. So gutted I didn't find out about this event sooner. I found out from Ian Somerhalder's Twitter when he tweeted about a late lunch and then heading to Apple down Regent Street.

I did see pictures thanks to Heat Magazine's tweets. Ian, Nina and Paul all look great ~~especially Ian, so yummy xD~~. Would have killed to get their autographs but I wouldn't know what to get them to sign. Maybe my new edition VD books though I'd like to save that specifically for LJ Smith. Anyway with the pilot starting next Jan on ITV2 I'm sure they'll come back here to popular demand. I already suggested them as guests for future conventions on Showmasters' forums. If they manage to attend I'm there.

OK I seldom tune in to Strictly Come Dancing or X Factor but if I had to pick I'd opt for the former in a heartbeat. I don't dance at all and have this self-conscious side always kicking in over the thought of wearing such revealing dresses. Anyway after catching bits and bobs of seaosn 7 I'm quite impressed with the good celebrities dancing. Ricky has sold me a few times in his dances so I'm happy he's in the final but I'm just horrified with the other result. It seems a lot of people have been complaining. I tweeted like hell (grr addiction!!) after watching the result show.

I voted for Ricky and Ali to be in the finals but I sensed that the public wanted to keep Chris, simply because he was entertaining. They don't want pretty people I bet. But honestly Ali and Ricky danced so much better. Yes they're younger but gosh they amaze me. They don't have to be jokers. Just dance wonderfully, please the judges which is what I'm cool with. I wonder what the judges think of this result. I felt they wanted to see Ali improve by the time the final came, should she and Brian have made it through. Their criticism wasn't bad, just saying they want to see a bit more of Ali's aggression. Those straight 10s in the American Smooth were utterly wasted.

Still, Ali and Brian as a dance couple have won my respect and they deserved to be in the final. They're sweet together and if they're getting close for real hehehe. YT has been kind in letting me find cute interviews and memorable dances of this couple. Same goes for Jade and Ian. I missed most of Jade's dances as I didn't tune in properly. Jade had potential to go further in SCD if not for her injury. Such a shame. I remember seeing Ian dance with Denise Lewis a few years ago and they had chemistry.

I sometimes turn to colleagues, family or online buddies I've spoken to for many years. It depends what I want to ask about. But normally I try to solve the problem myself and not be too reliant on others. This is often down to the fact a lot of the folks I turn to IRL aren't able to be as empathetic.

English - fluent but I'm no smarty pants in the grammar or spelling D:!!
French and German up to A Level but French I learnt since I started secondary school and followed my studying with German when I started year 9.
Cantonese - neverending n00b from day one, however I picked up a few words from speaking it with my family. Mandarin I'm an even bigger n00b in though I studied it for 11 months and dropped out because of laziness and conflict with my Laoshi.

The language(s) I would like to learn always changes. Normally the options consist of Finnish, Japanese and Korean. The last two are mainly because of my ongoing interest in the dramas, Anime and the music ~~I use those languages and their pop culture as escapism from my Chinese things. Don't know why, I just do~~. Finnish is down to my growing passion for Finnish metal plus I wonder if I had ever had a thing for Finnish culture since I had a surprise penpal many years ago but that's a cheesy idea.

layout change & small update

I really like this flexibles squares stylesheet. I had used it with other headers before but it's just so simple and easy to blend many pics with. Anyway for now I'm sticking with a Franzy banner though it could change in a few months time if I can update more often.

Last week I was off from work and went to Edinburgh for two nights, as well as going to see Jersey Boys which I previously mentioned in an earlier entry. Haggis is not as bad as I thought it would be xD Considering the vegetarian one next time. We bought whisky and soft fudge as well. Oh and the Scottish accent was EVERYWHERE so when I returned to London on Sat I got hit with cockney and the occasional Northerners accent on the train :P
