If you were to open your own theme restaurant, what would the theme be and how would you express it to the customers?

View 506 Answers

Not sure how I'd express this properly...

Well this isn't really a restaurant theme as I think it might be more suitable for cafes but I'd go for a Butler cafe theme. Check this article out. They're nowhere near as popular as the Maid Cafes. Why should the male geeks have all their fun with the maid cafes anyway? What about the ladies, eh?

Generally speaking though I'd open a restaurant that has a combination of an Animanga and Visual Kei or generic goth theme but if the fans prefer a cosy environment perhaps a cafe might be more appropriate.

Went shopping in Camden Town Market for the first time. My legs are absolutely dead after walking around for 6 hours.

It's not a place I'd like to go frequently -would prefer Westfield or West End- but I only went for a quick look with a friend. Too crowded for my liking and the market is full of dodgy sellers. Still, if you're looking for goth stuff there are loads of shops available. Lost count on how many goths and obvious metal fans lurking about.

I did however buy little merchandise on Anime after visiting the many stores opened by Chinese people. The Chibiness is omg so kawaii :P

There was even a bag label called Nekomania and there were loads of cute neko design bags :D Also went into a small fancy dress shop away from the markets and they had lots of costumes for comic characters and the Harry Potter school robes. I was tempted to get a robe but there was no Slytherin tie.

A talented musician or a Seiyuu in many languages. Unfortunately I'm nowhere near those routes yet. If I can't be good at music I'd like to be a writer.

article

I've not seen the entire City Hunter anime and OVA or read the Manga, let alone seen the Jackie Chan films based on the series but if the idea of a City Hunter live action TV series does go ahead I'm not sure how it'll do. Of course purists will be HELL NOOOOO but I'm curious to check it out even it does look like it will bomb.

Besides, it's Jung Woo Sung playing Ryo. As much as I <3 the actor I'm not sure how he'll portray Saeba Ryo. Can he do comedic ecchi male I wonder? Who will be the (un) lucky girl to play Kaori? Will there be a Shoujo mallet featured? XDD I'm tempted to volunteer to play Kaori if I knew how to audition for casting and had the ability to act properly and with confidence. Imagine reprimanding an actor you respect or whacking him with a 'mallet.' OK I doubt the Shoujo mallet would even be included in this series.

edit Still totally bummed I couldn't get a ticket for X Japan's HK concert this month but the tickets being sold out in an instant was going to happen. So as well as France the band might be going to Germany and Finland. OMG can you imagine them going to Finland? That's like a metal country. I have this impossible fantasy of Nightwish and X Japan performing at the same venue for a special rock/metal festival or one-off show :3 Seriously that would make my inner fangirl go loopy when it shouldn't.

I was meant to meet a co-worker at C14 but she didn't turn up - due to a huge hangover. I had the feeling this would happen when she said the day before that she would be drinking in bars with her best friend. These things are very easy to predict so I was of the "whatever lah" mind for the rest of the day. After saying she would see how she feels later on in the day I insisted she not worry and get some rest. Too bad she missed out on eyecandy seeing as she is a Smallville fan >:)

For the curious-minded...

Oh dear now I am tempted to go to The Hub (Torchwood convention) as that's two weeks away. The guest list was small the last time I checked but now there's more people. I am down for missing out on Collectormania 13 where the lineup rocked even with the explosive John Barrowman effect and the fans got crazy. I would have gone there for two people.

I'm in the mood for Cowboy Bebop for some reason. Maybe I miss watching it. Maybe I miss Vicious and his sword. Maybe I miss Spike being laid back XDD

Also I think Ed would make a hilarious companion for the Doctor. Someone should write it. Imagine a hyper but very intelligent girl running around the Tardis and the Doctor telling her not to press some buttons or play with certain switches. LOL.

If you are fan of Cowboy Bebop and/or Trigun you may have seen this awesome AMV called Tainted Donuts. If not, I recommend checking it out because it's a classic as well as a huge fan favourite. I saw this about five years ago but it is memorable for great crossover effect and managing to merge the humour from both series. The idea of a Cowboy Bebop/Trigun crossover is possible and this fanvid is definite proof. Plus Japanese rap can be good if you find the right song. Shakkazombie managed to get a Wiki page too. Before discovering Tainted Donuts I saw another very good crossover fanvid with these series but the music used was the Cowboy Bebop OP and that was the first Trigun/CB video I ever saw. Of course Midvalley had to be featured since we're talking jazz music here ;3 Obviously the fansubs don't exactly match what the Seiyuu are saying but if you ignore that, enjoy the humour and crazy action in the video it's fine ^^;;

I remember spotting some Trigun/Cowboy Bebop crossover fics at the pit a while ago but didn't read them all. If I find some good ones I'll link them.

briefly must say )

Any Anime geeks on f-list may have heard about the possibility of a live action Cowboy Bebop in the works. Well if turns out better than Dragonball I might check it out. Keanu Reeves is rumoured to be Spike Spiegel and this has sent waves of WTF in every corner. In a martial arts perspective yeah I can see it happening thanks to his Neo character though for the actual Spike character...Keanu would have to be laid back with the ability to switch on his serious side where needed. Who will be the lucky ones to play Jet, Ed and Faye?

I might change my moodtheme but I don't know what to go for :/

If you're into many fandoms you do tend to babble about them a lot on a daily basis. For me my interests tend to change a lot but they often land in music, TV or films.

I used to write a lot about Anime and Manga in the past but since I've cut down on both things I've written about my fav dramas and fav bands. Apart from the apparent fangirling featured I've found myself ranting a lot about certain fandoms and their "logic" about characters which normally involves outrageous bashing. As a result I attempt a defence on characters, musicians, actors or shows in general where possible.

Almost done with Prison Break season 2. Huzzah!! Absolutely less than three'ing the series and still trying to avoid as many spoilers as possible. Need to find season 3 ASAP so I can be up to date plus keep up with Dexter season 2.

fangirl )

Beneath my distraction from this adrenalin rush of a TV drama I've realised I'm so behind on Asian dramas too. I'm one of those people who starts one show then goes onto another without realising it. So I'm trying to keep track of different things simultaneously. I feel abnormal. Add Anime to the mix then it's worse. Nearly done with Huan Huan Ai for instance and nearly finished with Trinity Blood.

I still have to watch X Japan's three night concerts in Japan from start to finish. I downloaded the first two nights but I haven't been able to get the last one. Plus I've got a shopping list in mind. Help me god

* Within Temptation Black Symphony DVD
* Apocalyptica - Life Burns Tour DVD
* Metallica - S & M DVD
* Best of Xandria (CD/DVD)

Boy I'm getting into metal quite a bit, especially the symphonic or gothic area (with exception to Metallica because I'm listening to their older stuff after getting into Apocalyptica. So far they have some cool tracks I'll have to admit). Female fronted metal can be good if you look for the right bands. I've finally sat down to listen to Sirenia and Tristania and both bands are pretty good.

On the Jrock side I hear Dir en grey might be releasing a new album in November. I'm tempted to preorder the deluxe edition of Uroboros but it looks so pricey and the shipping would most likely be a killer. I might opt for the limited edition if I can. This makes me wonder about another thing. If they release a new album there's a possibility they might start touring again to promote this. So if they ever come back to Europe and head to London this time I'm going to go see them (with caution of course because we are talking Diru here). I'm a bit sad that the X Japan playing in Wembley rumour didn't turn out to be true and the fact that Kagrra cancelled their gig in London this month. Hopefully something more esciting will be round the corner.

As for what I want what I really really want --> to win in a competition for a meet and greet with Nightwish or X Japan. Nuff said XDD

As mentioned in this post I saw a really good Sailorjupiter cosplayer @ London Expo last May though couldn't take a photo. Luckily others managed to get really good photographs from that day. Spotted the Jupiter cosplayer. Have a look through here. Link credit goes to the MCM Expo forums.

I discussed with Nii-san about the (im)possible task of organising a cosplay group with other people and which characters we should be if we had the chance. As we were on the subject of Bleach's popularity he mentioned he'd cosplay Ishida and I said I'd do Kuchiki Rukia. If he wanted to cosplay Byakuya he'd have to be very cold ^^;; I'm still considering Kenshin at the moment because I'd happily "Oro" from a hug if necessary XP

Oh blimey I'm mental for this but I managed to get tickets for three gigs and one musical (this is for nostalgia). So if all goes well I'm going to see Kagrra in August, OneRepublic in September and Apocalyptica in December. I'll have to revise these bands' music in the meantime.

What was your first LiveJournal usericon and why? Why did you select your current default userpic?

View 500 Answers

My very first LJ usericon was of Sakurazuka Seishirou from X/1999, smoking a cigarette casually. The colours within the image were deep red. So fitting for a very dark character xD. At the time of joining Livejournal I had finished watching X and took an immediate liking to the Seishirou/Subaru relationship, as well as Seishirou individually. The fangirling got deeper after I started reading Tokyo Babylon.

My icons change a lot depending by the fandom I'm obsessing over but my current default userpic is of Nightwish keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen. His composing is simply fantastic. I'm a sucker for epic music and he just makes metal sound so good with symphonic style. I've been listening to Nightwish for at least 7 months now and their music always ends up on my CD player.

I'm probably not attending tomorrow because of an exhausting week but I had quite an interesting day out today nevertheless.

oh anime and manga it's been a while )

Now why can't London do what Paris and America do by getting top Japanese musicians to a Japanese culture convention?! That would be awesome, yes?

edit Spotted two people with Nightwish shirts. One of each era i.e. old and new. Whether or not they clashed I'll never know. In fact I saw tons of metalheads yesterday.
