I've been listening to Muse's The Resistance a lot. It just keeps on growing on me.

:D

I think it's safe to say this is an experimental album and one of those things you have to listen to a few times to get the feel, hopefully the new style will grow on you if you are feeling cynical at first. I'm starting to like this new album and style - saying this as a new Muse fan too. Wow I'm using the word new too often xD.

Uprising has this funky beat. Quite r'n b-ish like Supermassive Black Hole. Very catchy. I think the song which has quickly grown on me after I think 3 listens is The Resistance. But my possible favourite could change to Undisclosed Desires. For some reason I think True Blood and any other ships which are just dysfunctional with plenty of angst. The last three overture tracks are lovely. Traditionally classical music.

Out of boredom I did a search on Sookie, True Blood and the Mary Sue concept within the Sookie Stackhouse novels. The minute I put Sookie + Mary Sue together I found plenty of pages where people cried yes she is a Sue but then Twilight popped up in the search as well. I also found some Twilight VS True Blood posts. I would consider doing a defence post for Sookie on [info]hated_character if I knew enough on the books and True Blood but I'm still going through the early episodes of season 2.

It seems Sookie fandom gets compared to the Anita Blake series too e.g. here I haven't read the Anita Blake books as I'm scared of the Mary Sue thing that people have been warning about which was the feeling I got from Twilight. But now that I'm done with the Twilight saga I am going to brave myself for more crazy, supernatural fiction. So yes I might try Anita Blake and get through what I can of the Sookie Stackhouse novels until I break down. The last vampire series I read and kind of liked was the Vampire Diaries by LJ Smith. I read those a long time ago.

True Blood is not trying to be Twilight Sookie Stackhouse novels came way before Twilight after all...

Mako nostalgia and an encounter with a typically naive Westerner towards Manga )

Heroes vol 5 trailer was crazy. So Claire and that new girl are going to please the f/f fans. But my main excitement is from seeing Robert Knepper in the trailer. Still got the T-Bag presence which is a plus :D I am going to be keeping my eye on him throughout the series screencapping a lot if I have the chance lol. Hope they keep him for most of the season. I haven't read spoilers as I no longer follow the Heroes comms as much as I used to because the fandom makes me want to poke myself like hell. James Kyson Lee linked to a short trailer of vol 5 on his Twitter and I saw Ando with a Japanese girl. Is that Hiro's Nee-san?! Not that I'm fussed. Ando does need love after all!!

Ah poo I completely forgot about the special Red Dwarf trilogy last week. I'll just have to catch the repeats on Dave or watch it online. However I did manage to catch Skellig last night on Sky One and the Doctor Who easter special ep on Sat.

I read this book during my second year at uni and will probably have to refresh my memory since I watched the film adaptation.

Fans of Little Women often divide along Jo/Amy lines. Jo was independent and smart, but Amy always seemed to get what she wanted and have more fun. Are you in the Jo camp or the Amy camp?

I was quite fond of all the sisters, especially Beth and Meg but I'd probably be in the Jo camp because I was intrigued with how her writing progress was going and was amused by her tomboyish behaviour. At times I found Jo quite bitchy yet some of her interactions made me laugh. I wasn't too fussed by Amy when I read the book and watched film adaptations. I was more baffled by who Jo and Amy end up marrying in the end, as well as Beth's death :(

A lot of characters in kids' books have it pretty good, from calling the start of the wild rumpus to ordering room service from their hotel suite. If you could be any character from children's literature, who would you be?

- Harry Potter
- Hermione Granger (yes I know HP is popular sue me) I'm not as clever as Hermione but I have come close to breaking rules in the same way she and Harry have done on their adventures.
- Lucy or Susan Pevensie In the past I always saw myself as a Lucy but I admired Susan. That bow and arrow - I wanted so bad. At the time I thought it was simply cool XD

Just wanted to do what I normally do each year when I remember birthdays and that is to say Happy 42nd Birthday Yoshiki-sama :D I hope you can start a world tour with X Japan soon because that would make my current status so much more enlightening.

Secondly, the question of the day I posted earlier this morning had me thinking about something as I was browsing around Wikipedia, researching SE Hinton's books. I was remembering why I enjoyed reading The Outsiders for most of the morning and it occured to me that one of the characters I'm fond of was pretty much a male version of Mako-chan in a way HOMG a muse!! J/K Mako's not hyper or genki by any means but she's all about being the big sibling who listens attentively and I guess that shows when I read Sodapop's actions, as well as the reckless fighting to blow off some energy. Sodapop is not the eldest brother (that would be Darry) but he seems more nurturing and openly caring.

Speaking of muses Supernatural, Doctor Who and Heroes really tease fanfic writers. They're such huge fandoms and the characters can be engaging whenever possible that it makes my former muse itch. I'd kill to write a decent Heroes/DW, Heroes/X-Men or Heroes/Supernatural fic. Actually anything crossover related I want to write. I was browsing the [info]sn_crossovers community and saw loads of stories posted but I haven't sat down to read them yet. Oh [fan]fiction writing if only fandoms weren't so nutty I'd probably still enjoy storywriting like I did in the past.

I think you can tell I'm a latecomer SPN fan. I recently watched 1.09 Home and now I'm suddenly in need to go further XD

1. List five celebrities you would have sex with without even asking questions.
2. Put all of them IN ORDER of your lust for them. (Five to one, one is the hottest.)
3. Say which movie/show/thing it was that hooked you.
4. Supply photos for said people
5. Tag five people!
I'll leave this open to everyone because I'd be cruel to poke some of you to do this.

Elaborating on the cheekiness of this post, two weeks ago when I was in the Islington branch of Borders I went to the languages section and tried to find some Chinese dictionaries. Out of boredom I took a peek at the Japanese and Korean language books and I spotted a really amusing Korean phrase book. What was different about it was that it was a guide for dating/sex. I didn't go far in my skimming so I didn't see any really Hentai phrases popping up. However I noticed funny but rude things such as Who the hell are you, asshole?" I should have bought the book if I needed to laugh or be amused for five minutes. Maybe if I go back to that Borders branch another time I'll consider buying it for real.

I would not be as sleepy or weird right now. I made some labels for lever arch folders this morning and had to check on data on the database I was working on last week.

I admit the privacy is okay on some days although this kind of job isn't something I'd like to do long term, given the lack of luck I have when it comes to job applications relating to what I want to do.

On other things, I plucked up the courage to sit down and watch the new 2006 mini series of Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre on BBC1 last night. I didn't catch the first part last week because I was very uncertain on whether to watch it or not, having never read the book before or watched previous mini series or movie adaptations. Obviously when I finish the current series I'll make comparisons to the older versions.
