What is the longest uninterrupted period of time you've ever watched TV? Were you alone or with a friend/partner? Do you tend to watch more TV when you're happy, depressed, or simply bored?

When I caught episodes 2-6 of Pride and Prejudice 1995 on UKTV Gold. I didn't mean to sit and watch till the end as I already had the DVDs for this but then couldn't resist. I was watching it with someone else at home.

Normally I watch TV to get away from boredom or depression but will easily get happy when I am looking forward to my fav series starting in a few minutes.

I've been listening to Muse's The Resistance a lot. It just keeps on growing on me.

:D

I think it's safe to say this is an experimental album and one of those things you have to listen to a few times to get the feel, hopefully the new style will grow on you if you are feeling cynical at first. I'm starting to like this new album and style - saying this as a new Muse fan too. Wow I'm using the word new too often xD.

Uprising has this funky beat. Quite r'n b-ish like Supermassive Black Hole. Very catchy. I think the song which has quickly grown on me after I think 3 listens is The Resistance. But my possible favourite could change to Undisclosed Desires. For some reason I think True Blood and any other ships which are just dysfunctional with plenty of angst. The last three overture tracks are lovely. Traditionally classical music.

Have you ever participated in a boycott? What did you boycott and why?

The Beijing Olympics. I was too lazy to watch any of it and a bit wary because of the politics being mentioned on TV. Not just Western TV but even on the Chinese news. plus I had way too much personal conflict with Chinese IRL so that just made me even lazier

I tend to boycott my fav series too but it's more because of how the fandoms behave. At times there's a point where I try to watch an episode then get haunted by the rabid fans who dominate the fanbase on the net because I know how they'd react when something wacky happens O_O!! I know it's a daft reason but it's a helpless habit.

Thurs and Fri were my days off from work and both involved a lot of sun, as well as going out to London. Then Sat involved heavy rain, thunder and lightning in the evening after a great deal of sunny spells. Not sure if those attending Glastonbury were affected by the weather change.

watching Franz @ Glastonbury on me tv :) )

The Take continues to be brutally realistic in many ways. The last part is this coming Wednesday. Uncertain if I can stomach enough of the craziness from this mini series. However I'm going to check out Tom Hardy's other work. I just found out he and the actress playing Maggie were the doomed couple in the latest Wuthering Heights adaptation. No wonder those two were on fire (not in a nice way either) in The Take.

Ah poo I completely forgot about the special Red Dwarf trilogy last week. I'll just have to catch the repeats on Dave or watch it online. However I did manage to catch Skellig last night on Sky One and the Doctor Who easter special ep on Sat.

I read this book during my second year at uni and will probably have to refresh my memory since I watched the film adaptation.

If you were in trouble or ran afoul of the law, which fictional detective or investigator—from tv, movies, or books—would you want to help you?

My top choice would be Gene Hunt without a doubt. But if it was supernatural or spooky stuff I'd call Fox Mulder or those Winchester brothers XD

Have you ever met a celebrity in real life? Who was it and how did your paths cross?

If you're talking about chance encounters then I've never had that before. I've seen Dexter Fletcher while queuing up outside the now dead London Astoria to see Apocalyptica last Dec but I didn't say anything to him. As for conventions and signing sessions yep I have met a few people.

Examples of those who are memorable because I had a quick chat with them or they simply had presence are:

* Amber Benson @ Collectormania 14. She was super nice and appreciated my compliment on her new hairdo XD
* Dean Andrews @ Collectormania 14. Very chatty to all the fans who came to see him at said event. Took his time to get to know people. All round friendly guy so different to the Ray Carling character.
* Michael Rosenbaum @ Collectormania 14
* James Kyson Lee @ Collectormania 12. Still the coolest Heroes actor I've met by far. Had more things to talk with him :)
* Gary Barlow @ a signing session where he was promoting his autobiography in Waterstones, Oxford Circus branch.
* Nightwish @ a signing session in March 2008 in Zavvi, Tottenham Court Road branch. I got the band's autographs quickly because the security were rushing the fans to get their items signed.

So far with Demons I still find the characters are not as engaging as they should be but I might reserve deeper judgment when I go past a few more episodes. It's starting to improve a little in terms of characterisation but some of the plot is still quite messy. Then again I'm not expecting huge epic cliffhangers in any way. Next week looks promising for Mina. Shed some light on her yes please writers. I feel absolutely bad for Ruby's part in the series. The writers better help her out. I think Galvin is a little more enlightening after watching episode 3 as it touches on his past slightly.

Pre-ordered Franz Ferdinand's new album Tonight. Heard some samples of the new songs and Franz still has their catchy sound, adding a few changes. Ulysses MV for forthcoming single. It's catchy and I think Alex looks quite hot in the video XD

I've not seen the entire City Hunter anime and OVA or read the Manga, let alone seen the Jackie Chan films based on the series but if the idea of a City Hunter live action TV series does go ahead I'm not sure how it'll do. Of course purists will be HELL NOOOOO but I'm curious to check it out even it does look like it will bomb.

Besides, it's Jung Woo Sung playing Ryo. As much as I <3 the actor I'm not sure how he'll portray Saeba Ryo. Can he do comedic ecchi male I wonder? Who will be the (un) lucky girl to play Kaori? Will there be a Shoujo mallet featured? XDD I'm tempted to volunteer to play Kaori if I knew how to audition for casting and had the ability to act properly and with confidence. Imagine reprimanding an actor you respect or whacking him with a 'mallet.' OK I doubt the Shoujo mallet would even be included in this series.

edit Still totally bummed I couldn't get a ticket for X Japan's HK concert this month but the tickets being sold out in an instant was going to happen. So as well as France the band might be going to Germany and Finland. OMG can you imagine them going to Finland? That's like a metal country. I have this impossible fantasy of Nightwish and X Japan performing at the same venue for a special rock/metal festival or one-off show :3 Seriously that would make my inner fangirl go loopy when it shouldn't.

I didn't know the DW team announced the 11th Doctor last night. I think I was very distracted by my Korean film viewing and went to bath straight away after taking a break. I had a funny thought developing which involves Rose/Billie-chan coming back and seeing the new Doctor. It just relates to the two actors being in The Ruby In The Smoke (Matt Smith was Jim who I thought was charming XD). It's a daft crack idea really. It'll make my head hit the keyboard even more if I find a later incarnation of the Doctor becomes beyond Chibi so he is in nappies. If Doctor does get younger so he's a teen it might make him seem like a child prodigy on the outside.

I watched Demons last night -domo Gene Hunt with American accent- and given its time slot it was fun supernatural cheese. I got crossover ideas from watching it. Mina looks like a fusion of Blair Waldorf, one of the girls from Charmed and Cassie from Hex O_O!! I'd be interested to see Demons crossing up with Hellsing or Supernatural lol. I'll continue watching it for Philip Glenister's sake (and Christian Cooke though that could be because I met him at LFCC 2008 ^^;;).

Anyway back to the Korean film viewing - I blame The Good, The Bad, The Weird for this because it served as a huge reminder as to what I missed in Korean media. The last time I watched Asian films or dramas was probably two years ago. Um maybe I could blame Jung Woo Sung because he inspired me to watch some of his earlier films x3

Fear not US or UK dramas I will not abandon you lah!!

I haven't finished watching it from last night but wow there were lots of people I recognised and performances that were close to fangirling ;)

Take for instance the Defying Gravity rock version. I had no idea this existed until yesterday and that it was sung by Kerry Ellis, the first West End Elphaba after Idina finished promoting the musical over here. I think I went nuts when I realised Kerry was singing Defying Gravity and that Brian May was on guitar (he produced this and the other two songs featured on the Wicked On Rock EP Kerry released). Hearing the Wicked music in rock style is quite different.

No-one mourns the Wicked Defying Gravity is one of those songs that lifts my spirits up, makes me motivated...and sticks in my head for a long time ^_^;;

I also enjoyed most of the musical performances from Jersey Boys and The Lion King :) Josh Groban performed as well one of the reasons why I tuned in xD but it was a short track from Chess called Anthem. I still <3'd it as it was Josh.

I'm reading Fushigi Yuugi right now. The shame of me. Although to be fair I've recently gotten back into Manga thanks to the new library that's close to where I work. The Manga shelf is pretty big and I can see a lot of people have taken loads of books out so I thought I'd catch up with anything I started reading years ago. The library had a few FY volumes available and I started reading them during lunchbreak.

Didn't watch all of The Devil's Whore part 2 on Wednesday as I was watching Heroes instead. I did catch the last twenty minutes and have realised I always fall for guys who are about to be killed :/ I'll probably watch the repeat tomorrow night.

The guy who plays Thomas Rainsborough was Azazeal in Hex. I only found out last night while browsing on the web. I didn't watch Hex from the beginning nor did I watch season 2 but I did see the season 1 finale. Azazeal didn't catch my eye as a character but Michael Fassbender (the actor who plays him) is simply unrecognisable as Thomas underneath the long hair and moustache. I need to be forgiven for not noticing his piercing eyes before. I was rather drawn to him when he appeared in episode 1 and couldn't figure out why I was intrigued. After much thought I now realise his look reminds me of a certain Nightwish band member whose name is almost similar to Thomas ;)
